Pirates conclude season with loss to top-ranked Navarro College

The Victoria College Pirates wrapped up their 2019 volleyball season Friday with a 25-10, 25-6, 25-11 loss to the No. 1-ranked Navarro College Bulldogs at VC's Sports Center.

Anisa Martinez (Taft) and Ahitzia Zapata (Los Fresnos) each had four kills to lead VC. Valerie De La Fuente (Mission Veterans Memorial) had a team-high eight assists and Gabrielle Weido (Columbus) recorded 12 digs.

The Pirates, competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association for the first year, finished with a 7-17 overall record and 0-9 mark in Region XIV matches.

Navarro College improved to 24-0 and 9-0.
